HackathonHost sets no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, and runs no analytics. The web app keeps you signed in using your browser's localStorage, not cookies. This marketing site sets nothing beyond remembering your cookie-banner choice. That's the whole story — the sections below just spell out the details.

When you use the app at app.hackathonhost.com, it stores a few values in your browser's localStorage. These are strictly functional — they make the app work and remember your preferences. None of them are shared with third parties or used to track you across sites.

• Authentication token — keeps you signed in between page refreshes. Cleared when you sign out.
• Theme & display preferences — your host's brand colours, light/dark mode, and layout style, cached so the first paint after a refresh doesn't flash default colours.
• Language preference — the interface language you last chose.

Because this is localStorage, it lives only in your browser on your device and is never sent automatically with every request the way a cookie would be.

The site you're reading now (hackathonhost.com) sets no analytics or advertising cookies. The only thing it remembers is your response to the cookie notice, stored in localStorage so we don't ask again on every visit. Nothing here profiles you or follows you to other websites.

A few optional features hand off to third parties, and those providers may set their own cookies when you actively use them:

• Google & Apple sign-in — if you choose "Continue with Google" or "Sign in with Apple", the provider handles the login in its own popup and may set cookies under its own domain to do so.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — the bot-check on public voting pages may set a cookie to distinguish humans from bots. It is a privacy-preserving alternative to CAPTCHA and is not used for advertising.
• Google Maps embed — event location maps are shown in a Google Maps iframe, which may set Google cookies when it loads.

These only come into play if you use the feature. If you sign in with an email and password and never open a map or a voting page, none of them run.

You're always in control of local storage and cookies:

• Sign out — clears your authentication token from the app immediately.
• Clear site data — your browser's settings let you wipe cookies and localStorage for any site at any time. Doing so simply signs you out and resets your saved preferences.
